Former Employee - Project Manager says

"It has deteriorated in the last 3 - 4 years. The new management started bringing their GE buddies one by one. Few of them brought expertise and had to start learning the business from scratch. Instead, the experienced personnel started leaving one by one. A few of them remain but the general feeling is frustration. The results speak for themselves."

Former Employee - Manager says

"Obvious favoritism, if you are not Ex-GE, from India ancestry or related somehow either family or friend there will be NO progression within this organization to include any type of merit increase. Discrimination is openly acted upon by the Ex-GE Senior management while HR ideally stands by. They preach "One Exterran" but there is GE Exterran and Legacy Exterran (or what is left). SG&A cost are out of control while the earning employee is under paid, under recognised and overworked, it almost seems like this is being done on purpose."

Former Employee - Assembler says

"Long working days and without adequate rest ... I accident in the company (work accident) and when I recovered I was not accepted again, low professional level ..."

Current Employee - Administrative Assistant says

"Hostile Environment with executives lack of camaraderie"

Former Employee - Manager says

"Andrew (CEO) and senior staff are GE and running a great company in the ground. No respect for anybody but are making a fortune on everybody else."

Former Employee - Anonymous Employee says

"Bloated Human Resources Department more appropriately sized for Exxon Mobil still surviving and thriving, soaking up SG&A dollars like Donald Trump soaks up sunshine. Anybody with a real (non-HR) job outside of the senior management ranks is vulnerable to being replaced by a cheaper model."

Current Employee - Anonymous Employee says

"No strategy and no vision"

Document Controller says

"No room to grow and the systems they use are not up to par."

says

"Management is awful, generally have no clue what they are doing other than creating a toxic environment. I was told managers actually watch all employees even those that don't report to them to see when they are arriving and leaving. Change control process is a joke. Too much time spent on monitoring activities that aren't reviewed by auditors. Not enough time spent actually helping the business become more efficient."

Former Employee - Applications Engineer says

"Top heavy - upper management get all the protection and lower level people are screwed No chance at career advancement - they always hire from the outside for top level management so forget about internal promotions (they are misinforming you if they say that you can climb the corporate ladder)"

Industrial painter & hydrostatic tester (Former Employee) says

"This company is not a good place to work period! They only give 10 cent raises exept for the leads, or if your related to management. They hire mostly family, and put relatives in same departments when in their policy forbids it! They go by a point system for attendance. If you get sick and call in you get a point even if you have a drs. Note. The HR lady plays favorites with certain people, but not for others. You couldn't pay to go back! Their are noneIts like a concentration camp"

Assembler (Former Employee) says

"Tho product and environment is interesting. The problem is management. They play favorites and Exterran is constantly laying people off. Every two to three months the company lays people off then calls back one month later then lays off again. I feel that HR should allow the employees to evaluate the Supervisors and maybe this way they will see where the true problem is."

Intermediate Millwright (Current Employee) says

"No communication with employees what so ever! Management is a joke this is why they are having to sale company. They dont care about you. They smile. In your face than stabe u when u turn around."

Engineering Technician (Former Employee) says

"Absolutely terrible corporate management. Completely lost the ability to manage, but are completely capable of covering their incompetence. They are masters of promoting those that are even more incompetency than themselves to ensure the protection of their linage.Great people at the front lineComplete lack of integrity beyound the front line"

Field operator (Current Employee) says

"I work with this company since 2 years..no benefits ,no thanks and bad salary if you comporting with sam levels of this company . If I talk about the management it’s the worst .Good healthcare"

CWI/Quality Control Inspector (Current Employee) says

"Wouldn't recommend to work here as a quality inspector cause exterran does not care for quality. Management is not good, upper management is all lies.N_aManagement, pay"

FIELD TECH II (Former Employee) says

"There are a lot of awesome people that work for this company, But there are just as many bad decision makers. This company was very top heavy and made poor decisions in regards to technicians."

Coordenador Técnico de Planejamento (Former Employee) says

"Funcionarios trabalham insatisfeitos e sob pressao de gestoreslocalizacao0baixos salarios e exploracao de mao de obra"

Auxiliar Financeiro/Administrativo (Former Employee) says

"Empresa mal administrada, falta de opurtunidas e crescimento profissional. Só tem valor, crescimento e oportunidade, funcionários contratados, funcionários amigos dos gestores."

Field Service Technician (Former Employee) says

"Don't work in The oilfield it robs you of your family life and they spit you out when the lay offs begin. I almost died working 100 plus hours a week and they didn't even care about their employees. Management sucked too."

Service Technician (Former Employee) says

"Plenty of room for advancement but pay scale never matches. Will have new hires working underneath leads while getting paid more. Managers leading crews without any field knowledge."

Former HR (Former Employee) says

"Company has and is struggling with their niche, very young C Suite down to Manager Level Leadership. Being spilt into two companies which is already a fiasco. Turnover from top down has/is +20% which speaks for itself. HR, Payroll, Compensation & Benefits Groups are a joke & senior vp & directors in roles not because of expertise or talent. HR has key diversity issues which allows things to run amuck bleeding into actual business at hand. Micro, micro management with very experienced, senior professionals receiving weekly "to do" list. Pay above market but turnover & lack of solid leadership & HR Group that only pushes paper is very well known in Houston; only means to get someone in a job is exceedingly high pay & hope person stays for at least 1 year. Life expectancy of company(use) predicted to be short.Nice Houston Office Building; Very Unsafe Location - Greenspointall of the above: HR is a joke; reverse discrimination @ manager level up; 20% & above turnover"

Field Mechanic (Former Employee) says

"This place sucks no life You donate your time Run No family time You must provide ALL your own tools Run No training customers will hate you cheapest oil purchased for expensive equipmentGreat techsSorry management."

Senior Engineer (Former Employee) says

"Worked over a year as an engineer. The company has potential but management are interested in continues push toward productivity without improving working conditions for employees. Some middle level management treat employees as objects and managed to turned the office to a sweatshop. Lack of understanding on how to motivate employees made most qualified people leave the company. There is no future, no opportunities, and below market compensations. Knowing what I know now, I would never have accepted an offer to work for the company. I don't recommend it to any friends or to anyone.pay the bill if you have no better place to go.middle level management are useless, no training or opportunity for advancement even with degree and experience, promises are made and broken based on subjective issues."

Mechanic (Former Employee) says

"I worked there for over 5 months. Hired on with no compressor experience. I had little to no training, while working there. I worked on a crew with guys that were old and only a few years away from retiring themselves. They didn't want to train anyone new, they would say they didn't get paid to train. Pay is ok, dead end job . No advancement unless you have college degree. Management don't do anything for the employees. They act like and say they are going to help but never do. Most shop equipment is antique and need to be junked. The shop supervisor is a joke! Always breaking rules to better himself at the time. He pulled me off a unit where I was working with another new hand to work alone. Said that 2 new hands cant work together, must have someone experienced with them. Ok makes since. But to pull me off and work alone, using a overhead crane, (which I was never trained on how to use thru Exterran) to do my job. Yes I can operate the crane but they don't know that. Not a bad job for a contract welder however. Those group of guys were cool!! Got let go for not catching on quick enough. Kinda hard when you work alone half of the time. Not gonna learn being on the wash rack either. Glad im gone from there. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THEM. GO RIGHT DOWN THE ROAD TO FLATROCK OR ANOTHER COMPRESSOR COMPANY."

Mechanic (Current Employee) says

"no future, six years in and has been like being in swirling toilet bowl..no one seems to care loosing experienced employees, answer to that is to just get more temps. safety program holds employees back from completing tasks on time while management wants it done faster and cheaper.nonemanagrment cares more for profit than culture"

FORKLIFT OPERATOR (Former Employee) says

"They said they were going to hire me full time and hired me a temp and let me go after 2 days! I have 2 years experience in forklift and let me go off two days? Not good people to work with. They don't give you any chanes at all.pros is they suck!cons is they suck!"

I&E Technician intermedit (Current Employee) says

"enjoy the work but hard to deal with management. Nothing is good enough for them . every employee is very disengaged at this time. very low pay and long time to get raises in generalco worker are all easy to get along withbad managment no direction, no consicity with work requirements"

Document Control Coordinator (Former Employee) says

"Not a place to work, if you want to move up in the company. Too many changes in management. Higher ups are lazy. Didn't receive a raise in 3 years. Revolving door for those not in management positions."

Staff Process Engineer (Former Employee) says

"There are some relatively inexperienced managers in the organization who don't know what they are doing. They are less concerned about the affairs in the group and the quality of work. This is causing rapid attrition of employees… NO ONE should have to work in an environment of fear and intimidation or retaliation for providing feedback. PEQ Director of center of excellence is one example of power kick and playing God with people careers. People are moving with their family across the country for the company and no need to be heavily handed with underachiever manipulating director who is much like a fabrication shop supervisor than a manager."None, all the Pros gone with the merger back in 2007"Slave drive, not willing to answer the questions when we ask, constant pressure from upper management"
